But Meghan isn’t the only aficionado of staple footwear. Her sister-in-law,Kate Middleton, also boasts a signature shoe choice: hericonic brown tasseled knee-high leather boots. Purchased from British brand Penelope Chilvers in 2004, these versatile riding boots have graced the stylish royal on countless occasions since, even recently making a cameo on the small screen inThe Crown.

Princess Kate, 42, has donned the boots on various royal engagements, including a memorable five-hour hike in the Himalayas in Bhutan back in 2016.

“I launched the company from my kitchen table, and those were the first boots I ever made,” Chilvers previously told PEOPLE, adding that Kate was one of her first-ever customers. “Probably the most exciting time that she ever wore them, for me, was the first time at Blenheim Palace for some country fair, which was around the time that her relationship with William was announced to the world and it went viral.”
