The casting news show for CBS ’ Supergirl television receiver series have been come both fast and furiously , but here ’s the boastful reveal — the first feeling at star Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor - El , complete in her Supergirl uniform . And we are dismayed to report that … well … she really looks pretty great !
The costume is clean , simple , iconic — sure , the color are a small dark than her mirthful vis-a-vis , but that ’s just equality for trend in live - action superhero adaptation , DC and Marvel likewise . I love how it ’s also just a straight - up costume , and not some bizarre “ Kryptonian armour ” or something .
The outfit was design by Colleen Atwood , who also design the costumes for Arrow and The Flash , the other two DC superhero telecasting series being produce by Greg Berlanti . I ’ve always like Arrow and the Flash ’s outfits fine , but I recollect this is my favorite . Sometimes simplest is honorable ! Now , if only someone at WB ’s DC superhero film team would learn that object lesson …
