When ’s the last time you really feel like a badass on a bicycle ? Probably when your training wheels came off around the age of six . Well , fortunately for you , wheel and oversized object enthusiast Richie Trimble has figured out a manner to feel that sense of wobbly danger once again : a 14.5 - foot , loom beach cruiser he call the StoopidTall Tall Bike .
The impressively sturdy bike made its first ride this past Sunday at Los Angeles ’s CicLAvia , a mass celebration of alternative transportation . And assuming you currently delight being awake , Trimble was kind enough to video magnetic tape the entire matter , let you get a good sense of what it ’s like to ride 14 feet up without any actual risk of infection . Not exciting enough for you ? Well how about this — the bike does n’t have breaks .
But if for whatever reason , you find yourself want a two - wheeled street threat of your very own , he happily lay out the spectacles for us :

14.5 ft at the Seat
construct in 12 work hours
One Huffy beach cruiser , 2″ substantial tubing , 3/4″ round tubing , and 1″ one shot tubing

26″ individual focal ratio coaster brake wheelset
6 1/2 single stop number bicycle Ernst Boris Chain ( 32.5 ft of chain )
To bend the tobacco pipe i used an upper side down shopping cart and a split logarithm . Ghetto , i be intimate , but hey – IT WORKS .

Obviously , the bicycle is n’t exactly street legal , so you believably wo n’t see Trimble taking to the streets again any clock time before long . But at least we can relive the drive in all its terrific glory again , and again , and again , for as long as our slight hearts can care . [ Devourvia@Dgolborne ]
