Elektra made her triumphant tax return from , well , being stagnant in The Defenders this past weekend . But even after reviving her , the show definitely did some uncanny things with the case by the death of its eight episodes … things that even actress Élodie Yung does n’t particularly understand .
By Defenders ’ goal , Elektra , resurrected as an empty vas for “ The Black Sky , ” has gone some places . She ’s murdered her resurrector Alexandra ( Sigourney Weaver ) and established her own control over the Hand . But , she also slowly began to domesticate factor of the life that she ostensibly should n’t be capable to remember from before her rebirth , include her name and , seemingly , much of her on - off romantic history with Matt Murdock ( Charlie Cox ) . And then a gargantuan building — and the cavernous osseous tissue of a flying lizard entomb below it — blew up on top of her ( and Matt ) , apparently trapping or vote down the both of them forever and a day .
The very end of the season unveil that at least Matt start out out live — somehow!—but what of Elektra herself ? Well , speaking toEntertainment Weekly , Yung says she has absolutely no melodic theme what ’s work on . Like , at all :
Well , from my sympathy , I ’m still active . You sleep with , they gave me this potion to bring me back to life , so that ’s my understanding of it , but really I have no cue . I ’m just as confused as you , I do n’t jazz what ’s going on . [ Laughs ] I might still be in that construction as I ’m talking to you [ laughs ] .
Helpful ! To be honest , we could n’t exactly keep up withwhatever the hell was going on with Elektrain the show , either , so it ’s reassuring that Yung at least seems to have a interchangeable level of confusion .
But hey , consider Matt Murdock managed to get out of those ruins and into the nearest convent awake and mostly well — without the assistant of the occult goopy “ substance ” the Hand used to revive Elektra and its drawing card for centuries — it probably makes sense that Elektra is out there , somewhere , too . That ’s belike go to be a inquiry for Daredevil ’s third season to respond .
