HD DVD made dual - sided HD DVD / DVD combo discs in 2006 . They even announced a double - sided HD DVD / Blu - ray disc in January 2007 . So why the fuck did it take three more years to make aBlu - ray / videodisc combo ?

poppycock like this is indicative of the problems with the Blu - re formatting . Not only did they plunge the formatting with players not to the full supporting basic stuff like Ethernet ports for over - the - internet updates , it take them almost two years to get suppliers onto the Blu - ray of light 2.0 format , which more or less made them catch up with HD DVD ’s feature solidifying . Blu - ray did n’t just put the handcart before the horse , they roll the cart down a mound , waited a year , and asked the horse politely if it could go find the cart .
I do n’t want this mail to be just a chance to re - hash all the sometime topic with Blu - ray , but really . Three age . It take three years for you guys to get your act together and realize most of the people — the mainstream , not Gizmodo readers — now do n’t really see the want to buy raw participant , raw discs and raw TVs just to watch movies in high def . Hell , one in five people ca n’t tell the differencebetween SD and HD .

Do n’t get me incorrect ; this is a marvelous idea . With combo discs you could eliminate the pauperism for standalone DVD releases , thereby saving ledge blank space AND set Blu - ray disk in the hands of people that would n’t necessarily have purchased Blu - ray . Once these unwitting customers collect enoughBlu - ray combodiscs , they just might purchase a cheap BD actor and convert . Really , it ’s a groovy sales manoeuvre and something that will ease the transition for the less technologically inclined .
But answer me this , Blu - ray syndicate : why did it take you three extra yr to get out this off ?
