Helmed by Don Hall ( Oscar - win manager ofBig Hero 6andRaya and the Last Dragon ) and Qui Nguyen ( co - writer onRaya and the Last Dragon ) , the trailer shows a sept of explorers , granger , and pilots who have end up … well , they do n’t quite knowwhere they ’ve finish up actually .

take a slew of ocular intake from retrofuture pulp military action sensibilities ( toned down to a phratry - friendly audience , of course ) the trailer looks like Disney ’s giving some expressive exemption back to the persona decorator . After critic and audiences praised Soul ’s advanced visual stylings , it ’s nice to see that Strange World takes globs , blob , and splats and campaign them even further . There ’s not a small amount of one-time school Indiana Jones homage either , from the case to the kind of loath explorer archetype that seems to pop up in these sorts of films . I ’m also seeing a snatch of an Atlantis vibe , an underrated millennial favorite from 2001 that also control a not - quite - IE journeying into a fantastic and mechanical unexampled universe .

unknown World will star Jake Gyllenhaal as Searcher Clade , a farmer who gets caught up in an exploration far over his head . As the Clade sept gets caught up in escapade in a land that proves both mysterious and treacherous , they will have to work together amid the dangerous and terrific novel land they discover themselves in .
