California wants to be the first state to disallow companies from labeling their products as recyclable unless they can prove that the ware is really being recycled .
The recycling symbol — those three “ tail arrows ” that form a triangle — look on all sort of things : charge card fork , cosmetics containers , and even windowpane panes . Corporations would then be lawfully barred from using the word “ reusable ” or the recycling symbol on any products made of materials that are not reprocess at a rate of 75 % or higher . Products would also have to suffer other criteria , including not contain toxic compounds like PFAS .
