Interspersing Tom Cruise , Sofia Boutella , and director Alex Kurtzman ’s talking heads , the featurette shines a few spotlight on some of the movie ’s luxuriant action episode ( include the plane crash from the trailer ) , and also some amazingly pretty shot from filming — like slo - moment shots of gorgeous aspect , the backs of cast and crew heads framing unlike images , and an artistically placed bunch wireless . It ’s a surprisingly fancy for your typical sort of behind - the - shot reel .

You also get to see Russell Crowe and Tom Cruise kick back the bejesus out of each other for a scene , which is very fun . And plenty more shots of Boutella ’s titulary Mummy , both in chains and also kicking some can , both pre- and post - dry gangrene .
